PLEASE USE ONLINE SIGN UP: Lately, we've had a lot of people forget to sign up on Wild Apricot. This has resulted in some very cramped packing spaces, which makes some volunteers that did sign up feel uncomfortable. If all the spots are full, please add yourself to the waitlist since we often have same-day cancellations. Name/s will be selected in order of who joined the waitlist first. We also are often short on Thursday’s, particularly at UROC and Indigenous Roots,  so please consider helping at these locations.

TIME COMMITMENT: Our expectation is that all volunteers stay the entire shift until all the food is distributed and the location is cleaned. When individuals leave early this puts a heavier responsibility on those that stay until the end. Therefore, if you are not able to help the entire food share, please wait until the morning of the food share to sign up to give an opportunity to those that can commit to the entire shift. If you cannot stay the entire shift, please wait to sign up the morning of the food share so not to take the space of someone that can stay the entire shift.

PERSONAL GROCERY BAG & EXTRAS: Equity is important. Volunteers are able to pack their own grocery bag with the same amounts as what the public receives that specific day. Volunteers will pack their own bag after packing two bags for the public first. Distribution of extras to groups and organizations must be approved in the huddle by all present. We strive to be transparent about where the food/items are going and make this decision collectively.  Oftentimes near the end of the food share there will be items remaining. We ask that the group does another huddle at this time and makes a collective decision where the items should go, while keeping our commitment of serving the community in the forefront of those decisions.

TRUCK DELAYS: Occasionally the truck arrival is running behind due to delays at the warehouse, poor weather or mechanical issues. We will continue to try to notify volunteers as soon as we hear this information. Please make sure you have a phone number or email address so that we can reach you.

MASKING: After careful consideration that included assessing the current state of the pandemic and obtaining feedback from volunteers and the public who attend food shares, we have decided to make masking optional at Sisters' Camelot events. Please feel free to continue to mask if that makes you comfortable.

Each guest above the age of 12 must register independently. Friends, family and co-workers are welcome to join. We love guests and are always looking for new volunteers. Please email the collective with any questions at collective@sisterscamelot.org. If you need to cancel your shift you can do so independently directly on the Wild Apricot or you can email the collective if you prefer. Thank you everyone for your dedication and hard work.
