We will be expanding our volunteer number for Tuesday food shares to 15 not counting the driver/drivers-in-training. Since we have not been filling all the spots for food shares lately all volunteer spots will be "first-come-first serve" for now.
Please make sure you are filling out your name when you sign up so we can see who is joining us. I will add more advanced features to this system eventually. The first step is getting everyone comfortable with this system. We will still communicate via group text for the time being except for RSVP's and cancellations. Keep RSVP's and cancellations here only. There is no need to notify us when you cancel as we get notified via the website of any cancellations.
Instead of having the drivers stay late packing and cleaning we will have the drivers instead work on getting excess food to community sites sooner. Thane will be driving and needs someone to volunteer to be his co-pilot to deliver food to community partners in the truck.
If you sign up to volunteer we are counting on you to stay the entire time until clean-up is complete. If you are only able to help for several hours, please consider coming near the end of the food share to help maintain our volunteer presence. As always we are collecting paper bags to save for food shares other than Walker Church. Bring them to any food share and we will set the bags aside for use or storage.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Please wash your hands in the bathroom on arrival. Do not join us if you or a roommate is having viral symptoms. Face mask use is mandatory. Please come wearing a facial covering. Keep it covering both your mouth and nose. If you need to take your mask down to have a snack or drink, please go at least 6 feet away from anyone before lowering your mask. We still have to stick to to the agreed upon number of volunteers to follow Covid precautions. We cannot bring more people to pack food unless they are in this list. If you have a guest, please have them sign up online as well.
